Abstract
This article analyzes the sectional and referendum elections held on February 5, 2023 in Ecuador. From the official publication of the results, the story about the great winner of the contest was built: Correa’s Party. However, when closely examining the data, this perception is questioned since the victories, on average, were given with about 30% of support from the electorate -a figure that has not grown in recent years-. In this context, the problems faced by the opposition to build a political identity beyond the rejection of former president Rafael Correa stand out.
