Abstract
In a democratic environment characterized by a high political, economic, and social polarization, Daniel Noboa defeated Luisa González in the runoff held on October 15th in Ecuador. Noboa was elected to finish Guillermo Lasso’s term, who called for early elections in the middle of the inability to achieve minimum governance agreements. The context once again pitted correísmo against anti-correísmo, with an additional peculiarity: during the first round who stood out was the one who delivered a conciliatory speech far from confrontation. However, the dynamics of the next electoral stage once again framed the proposals between two irreconcilable sides.
