Abstract

This explores the significant impact that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has had on the segmentation and targeting of political campaigns, real-world applications in the past, and trends for the immediate future. AI has revolutionized segmentation, allowing a micro-segmentation approach that divides the electorate into smaller groups based on individual behavior patterns, interests, and beliefs. Regarding targeting, AI has enhanced precision and efficiency, facilitating the prediction of electoral behavior and allowing A/B testing of different messages. However, this use of AI raises ethical and privacy challenges, including concerns about data protection and political manipulation. As technology advances, it is crucial for policymakers and legislators to keep pace to ensure the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.
